Circle of Values

Harlem Village Academies embraces a circle of values that guide us in our daily actions and efforts:

Compassion

I go out of my way to be kind to others. I never gossip or tease my classmates. I strive to understand and to help those in need.

Integrity

I always act with honesty and truth as my guide. I do the right thing at all times.

Respect

I comport myself with dignity. I am respectful to my teachers, family and peers. I use only respectful words, gestures, tone and actions.

Community

I do my best to be a good friend to everyone in the school, so that we all feel like we all belong. I take good care of our school, and keep my area clean and orderly.

Leadership

I am the leader of my own life. I lead by example. Through constant reading and a serious focus on my studies, I will become a leader in my community and the world.

Effort

I put in maximum effort 100% of the time. When I don't do well, I always try harder. I focus and push myself to work as hard as possible in every class.
