Harlem Village Academies was created to change the lives of children - and to change the world.

Harlem is the historic center of the civil rights movement, home to legendary activists and leaders. It is our responsibility to carry on the work of the civil rights movement by ensuring that all children in our nation have equal access to quality public education.

Mayor Bloomberg calls Harlem Village Academies "a model of excellence," that sets a higher standard for public education in our nation. Harlem Village Academies recently made history as our students were the first class of eighth graders ever in Harlem to achieve 100% passing on the state math test. In addition, 100% passed science, 96% passed social studies, and on the New York City grading system, our schools earned a grade of "A" in every category and "A" overall. For three years in a row in eighth-grade math, Harlem Village Academies has ranked #1 of all public schools in New York State.

We love what we do - and we are always looking for talent! If you are passionate about education and social justice, join our team of teachers and leaders serving Harlem's children.
